Congratulations

A little history-

Having lived through two early pregnancy losses reality of what is at stake is a little more real. All pregnancies bring on their own scares, but once someone lives through two nightmares- everything is scary.

On Thursday September 11th, (the day prior to what should have been my first due date) I used a HPT (Home Pregnancy Test) and found a very faint line. When I say faint, I mean super duper faint- it was lighter than that. Chad laughed at me when he learned what I did after peeing on the stick. I blame shock and hormones. I found myself downstairs, snapping a picture of the results, loading them onto my pc so I might enhance it in Photoshop. After spending an hour at that realizing that I wasn't making up the line- it truly was there, I went back upstairs. I slept for a bit until Chad woke up and at which point he asked what in the world was wrong with me and what I was up to, I replied nothing. I was still unsure if I wanted to tell/show him. What if I was wrong- what if something went wrong... so many scenarios went through my mind. Finally I told him, he was beyond excited. I showed him the test and he agreed there was a line even though it was faint.
I called my OB and went in for lab tests that same morning.

On Friday, the nurse called and told me my HCG was a 13. I knew I was "barely" pregnant.

I had a retest on Saturday. This morning (Monday) my wonderful OB called and said "Congratulations"- My first words were- so they went up? She laughed and confirmed my numbers indeed doubled, they almost quadrupled to 49. I'm on progesterone supplements so my progesterone levels look good too! I can't believe it, things really are looking good. Of course I'm very early in my pregnancy but these are all wonderful signs. Its been almost 3 hours since I spoke with my doctor and I'm still in shock. I made myself ill all weekend awaiting these results, hoping for the best- preparing myself for the worst.

This is where I will share the highs and lows of my pregnancy. So feel free to check back often to see what is going on with baby and me! Granted, I will probably post other stuff to, things that have to do with Chad and I, projects we have going on, bits of photography stuff as I learn it, ect. Thanks for reading.

At the beginning with you, Baby.
